OKARA: Responding to former prime mini
ster Nawaz Sharif’s announcement about launching a campaign
against the superior judiciary over its recent judgements, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Sunday said the ousted premier is incapable of running any public movement.
“Have you [Nawaz Sharif] ever run a movement? … a coward can never run a movement,” said Imran while addressing a public gathering in Okara as part of party’s pre-election campa
ign in Punjab province. It was PTI’s first rally after Supreme Court (SC) announced its verdict in a disqualification case
against Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen, clearing the party chief of all the allegations.
Commenting on the judicial proceedings in the disqualification reference
against him, Imran said he submitted 60 documents with the Supreme Court, whereas Nawaz Sharif could only present the Qatari letter to justify his wealth. He said if anyone proves any financial wrongdoing
against him during PTI’s tenure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), he would leave the politics.
“Since four years PTI has been in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Ask anyone if I ever built a factory, took a loan or did nepotism, and if you can prove even one thing I will leave poli
tics,??? said Imran.
During his address, Imran condemned the terrorist attack on a church in Quetta and said the nation must ensure equal rights for minorities in the country. He urged the participants of th
e rally to help him in guarding the rights of the minorities.
